About Us
A Mission of Movement
Academy of Dance has been open under the direction and ownership of Jacquie Franz since 2001. In the spring of 2009, Academy of Dance moved to its current location, offering classes for two-year old's and up. We pride ourselves on creating an exciting and fun environment for our students and their families while teaching the technique and fundamentals required to excel in all aspects of the performing arts.
Teachers with Experience
We employ staff who are highly trained in their genres of the performing arts. Our AOD staff continues their education in order to provide our students with the utmost professional arts education and sense of confidence as well as achievement.
Curriculum
We offer classes designed for the beginning dancer through the most advanced in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary and hip hop. For those looking for the Broadway experience, we offer a Musical Theatre program, with emphasis on the "triple threat" of voice, drama and dance.
Students are evaluated at the beginning and end of each year and are placed into the proper level based on their ability. Our goal at Academy of Dance is to provide our dancers with strong technique and traditions of the performing arts through proper education, training, exposure and celebration.
Competition Teams
AOD Performance Companies are a select group of students who represent the studio at competitions. The company's main focus is to strengthen students who want to take their talent and ability to a higher level through stage performance opportunities and competitions, both on a regional and a national level.
In addition to our company dancers, we also are very proud to have a Thespian Troupe, which focuses on musical theatre, Broadway, vocal and acting. Our Thespians are a diverse group of talented actors, singers and dancers - a true "triple threat"!
